The EYE!

Over the years I have had several people tell me that I have "an eye" for photography. I am not really sure what that exactly means, except that God helps me see things from a little different perspective. The debate has always been, is this something that we learn or is it a natural ability or a little of both? What I do know is that the more we take pictures, we begin to see the world a little differently and from different angles and settings. We learn what will make a a good or a bad photo. Tonight as I was driving around I came to the Trego Walking Bridge just as the sun was setting (The first 3 photos) . There on the other side of the bridge the sun was hovering behind the trees and reflecting on the water. This is what I call a "God Moment", eye or no eye!

The Old Church Re-visited

Yesterday, I made some visits in Douglas County, so I decided to re-visit the Old Church and Lake Superior Lake shore. These old buildings are fascinating and full of mystery. Usually I like to leave the photos as normal and realistic as possible. But when it comes to these old relics, I can't help embellish them a little to make them more ghostlike and old. Use your imagination when you look at these photos and try to envision what this building was like 100 years ago. The patina of the old boards is absolutely beautiful.

Rock and Roll

With Easter being this past weekend, it is only fitting that I upload a few photos I took yesterday of the Wisconsin Point Lighthouse. There was a strong wind and the waves were striking against the rocks and the lighthouse. But the old lighthouse stood firm and unwavering. That is a great picture of the Great Lighthouse - Jesus. In the midst of the storm we need to cling to the Rock. It was fun taking these photos, but it was also quite cold, so I didn't stay out there very long. My hat blew off and landed in the water and is probably fish bait by now. Even though I was only able to shoot for about a half hour, I must have taken 250 pictures of the great landmark. Here are just a few of them. Enjoy and let me know which one you like the best. Thanks - and keep clinging to the Rock of Ages.
