Wisconsin Point - Again!

I don't know how many times I have taken photos of the lighthouse at Wisconsin Point. My wife thinks I take way too many, BUT.... One thing about taking photos of the same spot is that every time there is something new and different to shoot. The challenge is to find the new ways of taking the same thing in a different light. I think I did that this time. The emphasis was not just on the lighthouse but the icy drift wood and the lake scene. Much of the driftwood was covered with frost or icicles. You be the judge, let me know what you think of the way the photos were taken this time. God can take the plain and make it unusual.

Right Wrong Turns

When you make a wrong turn down the wrong road while taking photos - KEEP GOING! Today I had plans on going to Pattison Park to shoot the frozen falls, but when I got to Gordan I got side tracked. I ended up going down county Road G, which I have not been on before. This ended up being a better plan. God allowed me to take some photos that I would not normally take this time of year. One of them was a red barn with pine trees on the side. With a contrasting blue sky it turned out quite well. Then there was a bridge with a river on both sides of the road. On the right side of the bridge was a beautiful tree with its reflection in the river. I must have taken 25 or more photos of that single tree. Here are a few of the photos I took today. Back Roads Odds

Today was quite a busy day. It started by going into Spooner to study at McDonalds, as I usually do. Right after that I had a Bible Study with Wayne and Larry. Then it was off to the church in Barron to finish a project I started to do the other day. On the way home, I decided to take a "short cut" down the side roads. The goal of this, of course, was to take some photos of what ever I could find. First stop - an open field with round bales of hay. I tried to shoot them from different angles. On the way home, I also saw an eagle and this bird house. There is not much left of the bird house, but it still makes an interesting photo. Anyway here are a few photos from my trip back home today. Cranes and Barns

I have been known to take a few pictures of barns over the years. I don't think I can add up all the different barns that I have shot. The amazing thing is that everyone is different and has a story of its own. This past Saturday I was at a craft sale and as people looked at my barn pictures and calendars, they kept expressing that it was good that I take these photos now. In a few years these old barns would be gone. To prove this, there is a barn in Ashland County that over the past few years I have photographed again and again. The last time I was there the barn was flat on the ground. My heart was broken!
  I also have acquired a taste for taking photos of Sand Hill Cranes. Today I was able to combine the love for barns and cranes. As I drove down Highway 53 toward Rice Lake, there on the other side of the road was a field full of cranes - RIGHT in front of a barn in the distance.  I turned around, stopped the car and started to take pictures. Then it happened. The birds started to take off - right in front of the barn. My camera just went click, click, click in a joyous celebration! God's perfect timing!!!
