Barns and Old houses.

This week I started to do a new assignment for myself - taking photos of empty and deserted buildings. Every one has a story to tell. Just wish they could talk to share that story. There is no better place to fins these buildings that Bayfield and Douglas Counties. Today I took a trip up north and captured some photos a couple of deserted houses and, of course, a couple of barns. Below are a few of the photos I took. Enjoy and God Bless...

Favorite Spots

Every nature photographer has their favorite spots that they like to photograph. I have several places that I repeatedly go back to. One of my favorite spots is near Clam Lake, Wi. It is almost 60 miles, but worth the trip. Just this side of Clam Lake is a camp that has a bridge in the woods that you can see from the road. I have taken photos of this bridge and lake in the Fall, Summer and now in the Winter. If you take some of the side roads, you can also see some fantastic winter scenes. God is a great designer, especially in the winter. Another choice place is Pattison Park Falls near Superior, especially in the middle of winter with everything frozen over. Here are a few of the shots from today and earlier this month. Enjoy and may the Lord Bless!

Frozen Lighthouse

These past few days have been extremely cold. I have been wanting to work in the "Doghouse" (my workshop), but it has been too cold for even that Yesterday I thought I would at least try to turn the heaters and and get it warmed up. That is the first time I saw the heater fan barely turn and would not really kick in. I gave up and did stuff inside. Today I decided to brave the below zero weather (-6 degrees or more) and travel to Wisconsin Point Lighthouse. Needless to say, I took pictures in a hurry and did not take as many as I usually do. On the other side of the lighthouse were 2 boats or barges, just sitting there. If these photos look a little frosty, that is because there was a frozen mist over the lake. I decided not to retouch them, but leave them just as they came out of the camera. Either way enjoy them and let me know which ones you like the best. Bundle UP and keep warm!
