Morning Fog

This past week we spent some time at Camp Chetek for an InFaith retreat. I got up early on Wednesday and went down by the lake to take a few shots. The fog was moving in fast and by the time I was done it was pea soup thick. But before it got that thick I was able to take a few photos of the trees and lake through the fog, which adds a mysterious and special effect to the scene. Here are a few of those photos from that early morning photo shoot.God sure makes great mornings to show His glory!

Birthday Photo Shoot!

What does a photographer do on his 66th birthday? What else, but travel to the Michigan UP and take photos of waterfalls, lakes, and of course, the Lake of the Clouds. The day started off rainy, but soon cleared up by afternoon. I didn't take the time or have the energy to visit all the waterfalls. The one I really wanted to see was Rainbow Falls right off Lake Superior. Someone told me that the trout were jumping into the falls and that would make a great photo. BUT it was 3/4 of a mile almost straight up a hill using a stairway. These 66 year old bones decided not to venture that far. Here are some of the photos I did take, making the day well worth it.

Rosy Roses

If you have ever visited Leif Ericson Park in Duluth you will know that that it has one basic theme: "ROSES". Roses in every color and shape. Yesterday I spent almost 2 hours taking mostly photos of roses. They were amazing and beyond beauty. Most photographers will tell you that taking photos of flowers on bright sunny days is not recommended. But as long as you can have "even light" your shots should be right on. I actually did little post production work on these flowers. What you see is what I shot. When God made roses, He not only made a beautiful flower, He also made wonderful smelling flowers. As a friend of mine told me years ago, "When you get busy, take time to smell the roses". This is just a few of the shots from yesterday!
