Smell the Roses

When you first walk into Lief Ericson Park in Duluth, the first thing you notice is the aroma of the roses. Then you look around and see roses, roses and more roses, with a variety of colors and sizes. I started to take a few photos and found my self enamored in the smell and beauty of the roses. I could not take a bad shot of the flowers, and if I did, I have no one to blame but myself. Years ago, a lady in one of my churches always told me "Pastor, you need to take time to smell the roses." That is one best pieces of advice I have ever received. As you look at these photos of roses and other flowers, take time to imagine their smell. Then praise the Lord for the gift of a smell!

Sunset 2016

It has been quite awhile since I have taken any sunset shots and I almost didn't tonight either. After looking outside and seeing that it was getting cloudy, I almost decided to wait a few days, but I didn't. As you can see by the results below, it ended up being a perfect night for sunset shots. The Lord can sure make a beautiful sunset and declare His glory!

Get Real?

When it comes to post-production of photos I have always been a stickler about keeping things "real". In other words, I have never been one to over manipulate photos and try to keep them as original as possible. That being said, once in a great while I like going to the "wild side" and experiment with photos. A while back I purchased a program called "Perfect Effect" which I have played with from time to time. Below are  a few samples of some of the photos of flowers I took in the past few days and manipulated. Let me know if you think I should keep it real or dabble on the wild side from time to time. Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!

Flower Power

There is something about flowers that have a mystical power over me and my camera. They lure me in with their beauty and then compel me to take their picture. Today I was at the Botty resident and there in the front of their house there were beautiful lilies of different sizes and colors. With a wooden fence as a background they were irresistible. Here are a few of the photos I took today, which I am posting for the Botty family and others to enjoy! God's beautiful creation!!!
