Spring Tulips

What is there not to like about springtime? What an amazing time of year, especially as we see flowers starting to appear. As I was traveling last year at this time, I found a house with several beds of tulips and other spring flowers, so being a dedicated photographer, I stopped and started to take pictures. Come to find out it was a man that had sent his kids to one of our VBS several years ago. Today I returned to the scene of the crime to take more photos of his wife's flowers. I was not disappointed! Here are a few of those photos I gook today. Enjoy and praise God for His great beauty!

Four Dancing Swans

What an amazing day! This morning I headed to Crex Meadows, actually expecting that there would be very little to take photos of. After driving around the Meadows for about 45 minutes and getting ready to leave, I noticed a small pond with 4 swans in it. They were having a great time just swimming back and forth from one end of the pond to the other. They put on quite a show. One of them was quite aggressive and would snap at his mate from time to time and also stand straight up in the water and flex his muscles and feathers. I was able to get right next to the shore and quite close the the birds. My camera just kept clicking away - almost 800 photos in 25 minutes. I think I was in my "happy place". Praise the Lord - the weather was perfect and the swans didn't mind me sharing their space. God sure made a beautiful and majestic bird in the swan! Here are a few of the 800 photos I took today. (I only saved about 150 of the photos, but that is enough to play with!!!)

Dr. Dolittle

Spring has to be the best time of year for photography. It is finally warm enough for flowers to start blooming and bird migration is beginning. I think I have taken more animal pictures this week than I did all winter. There is a lake south and west of Spooner where the geese have laid their eggs and they are either sitting on them or they have already hatched. Today there was a goose and her goslings on the nest with the babies cuddling up to their mother. What an amazing and beautiful site! Praise the Lord for Spring!!! Here are a few of the animal pictures I took in the past 2 weeks. They range form geese, to osprey, to lamas and horses. I even took some photos of a few peacocks crossing the road. (Yes, I said peacocks!) Enjoy an let me know which animal you enjoy the most. Thanks and Happy Spring! For His Glory...

Unreal

When I started to do photography, one of the promises I made myself, was that my photos would be as real as possible and not compromised in any way. My goal has been realism not the unreal and altered. Recently I bought a program called "Perfect Effects 9" that I had to try out. Below you will find some of the photos I took yesterday at Chippewa Flowage and that I processed through this program. Yes, they are altered, and maybe a little weird, but hopefully not too overboard for photo realism. If you like them, that is great, but if you don't that is great too.
