A couple of weeks ago one of my friends on Facebook posted a photo of an old church in Douglas County. (Thanks Anna). Right away I knew that I had to make the trip and get some shots of this old relic. Whenever I see an old building like this, it brings up so many questions about it's people and history. As someone said "If these walls could talk..." When was it built? What kind of church was it? When and why did it close? What secrets do these walls hold? One thing that time brings out is the patina of the ancient wood. I just love the bright, contrasting colors. Selfishly I think this wood would make great wooden frames. In that same county there are many old barns that are decaying or just skeletons. Hopefully when people look at us "old photographers" they have similar questions. God put us together with a purpose and plan. May the old Godly patina shine forth for His Glory!
