Flower Power 18

The background of a photo can make a big difference. You can shoot the same exact flower, bird, person or whatever and by simply changing the background can change the whole character of the object. I took a simple pansy and put it front of different colors and textures, to see how it would look as I photographed it. It was the same pansy, but a different background. Take a look at these first photos and let me know which one you like best and why? My favorite is the last one with the red flower background.

So many flowers...

The only hard thing about taking photos of flowers this time of year is deciding which ones to post. Yesterday morning I paid a visit to Spooner Ag Center's garden. This is probably one of my favorite places to take photos of flowers. Right now almost everything is in bloom, as well as plenty of insects, bees and butterflies. Here are a "few" of the photos I took as "I came to the garden alone, while the dew was still on the roses". Great place to talk with the Lord and rejoice in His creation!

New Post Barns

My plan for the day was to work at the church on some needed repairs - BUT - I changed my mind and went out taking photos instead. (Diabetes has a way of draining my strength). I deliberately took the side roads home and it paid off. Below are some of the barn pics from today. One barn especially I fell in love with. (First 2 photos) It had all the elements of what comprises a complete photo: Flowers in the foreground, along with a fence post, beautiful trees and blue skies with a few clouds. There was also a small building right next to the barn that was covered with ivy. The rest of the barns also caught my eye as I drove by them. Glad I stopped!
