Addictive Photography

After a while I realize that I post way too many photos on this blog page - BUT IT IS ADDICTIVE. It is also therapeutic and above all my goal is to glorify our mighty God! My assignment for today was to travel north and put up camp flyers in some of the small towns near the camp. Seeing I was that far north, the only conclusion I could come to was to travel to the south shore of Lake Superior and try to take a "few" photos. While on the beach I found a birch bark that was perfect to take photos through. When I got back home and put them on the computer, I was really blown away at how they turned out. I think a few of these will end up printed and placed on my office wall. To God be the Glory!!!

Blog about Bog!

Because it was so beautiful today, I decided to take the day off and take a few pictures. These photos were taken east of Cable at a place called Forest Lodge Nature Trail on Garmish Road. If you enjoy walking through thick woods on a "deer path" for almost 2 miles and around and through a bog, this is the place for you. The woods were lush green and easy to maneuver. If you don't mind sharing the woods with mosquitoes, (lots of them) you will have a great time. Just walk fast and don't stop for more than a minute to take pictures. Other than that, it was worth the trek. One problem I encountered was that I had set my camera on the wrong setting, so some of the photos turned out blurry. These are a few that I managed to rescue. You will notice the last one is really out of focus - I think I was swatting a mosquito. Yes God even created this bug just to teach us patience!

Get Your Goat!

If you ever want to see a menagerie of farm animals, you need to visit the Manning Animal Farm. You will find goats (lots of them), dogs, horses, ducks, chickens and more. This afternoon I spent a while taking pictures of these amazing animals. The only problem is that the are all a little too friendly. When I tried to take photos of the puppies they were all over my feet and wanted to be petted. The goals were just as friendly. They would be in your face before you could take a shot. I have to admit that it brought back my second childhood playing with the animals. I somewhat felt like Dr. Dolittle or maybe the Pied Piper. The Lord sure makes some fun animals, including us humans. My favorite photo is the last one of the goat...
