I "Otter" Be In Pictures

Today, I decided to see if there was anything worth taking pictures of at Whallen Lake. It is only about 2 miles from here and easy to get to. When I got there I saw something scurry across the frozen snow and jump into the water. I quickly set up my camera, walked quietly over to the edge of the lake and waited. It wasn't long until this otter appeared and gave me some great pictures. He must have jumped into the lake 3 or 4 times and them came out and played on the snow on the edge of the water. What an amazing and beautiful animal that God has created. It amazed me how he could shake off the water on his coat and look dry - all without the use of a towel. I always thought winter was a rather dull time to take pictures. I guess I was wrong.

One Less Thanksgiving Dinner

In a field off from Perch Lake Road I saw 4 turkeys moving from the corn field to the nearby woods. They were probably celebrating that they escaped being dinner for Thanksgiving Day. I took several pictures and this is the one that really stood out. The things that amazed me is how big the bids were. They definitely would have made a good meal.
As I am writing this blog I am reminded of God's amazing creation and the creatures He has made. Turkeys are so majestic and beautiful that Benjamin Franklin almost wanted them for our national bird instead of the bald eagle. What an amazing God and Artist we have!

Twisted Alien Tree

One of the things I love doing is playing with the photos on Paint Shop Pro. Near Perch Lake is an area that was hit with a tornato several years ago. The result was many trees that were Twister Twisted. The first picture is what the tree really looked like. the 2nd picture is what a mirrored image of the tree looks like. I fell in love with it because it looks like an alien with antennae, bugged eyes and all. I know - I watch too much science fiction. What do you think?

Perch Lake Photos

One of my favorite places to take pictures in Perch Lake Bridge and the surrounding area. I never know what I will find there. the other day I shot some pictures in that area. It wasn't until I looked at the pictures on the computer that I discovered that in the distance was a large group of ducks enjoying the water and snow. I enlarged the picture and this is what I found - hidden gold. I only wish I had a longer lens.
