Flowers Galore

When I am in the mood for taking photos of flowers there are a couple of places that I really enjoy going to. One of them is Spooner Ag Center Gardens. They always do such a great job planting flowers, not just for beauty, but to attract bees and butterflies. The other place is Leif Ericson Park in Duluth. If you want to see roses - tons of them, this is the place to go. A couple of weeks ago they were just starting to blossom. Yesterday the park was alive with color and variety of roses and many other flowers. A short time before I got there, they turned the sprinklers on, so photos of wet flowers was possible. When I was done taking photos I looked at the counter on my camera. It was about 350 pictures. Not all of them turned out, but the majority of them came through just fine.                                 When God gives us roses, take photos. Not a bad way to spend the morning.

Singing in the Rain

Monday of this week it rained quite a bit in the morning. That afternoon was a perfect time to shoot a few flowers in the rain. There is something special about close up photos of flowers that have dew or rain on them. It simply makes them pop! There are several places in downtown Spooner that have an array of flowers, so it wasn't hard to find choice flowers. What an amazing God we have. Not only to make gorgeous flowers, but to also send the rain to water them.
Please take a moment and look at some of the flowers and insects I shot the other day. Give God the glory and the praise. He makes the flowers - I just shoot them!

Photo Day at Crex

Today was personal Photo Day at Crex Meadows. I really was not sure what I would find at Crex Meadows today, but I decided to try to get a few photos anyway. Crex is usually quiet this time of year with very few ducks and geese around. One of the first things I saw was a lone swan by the side of the road, just sitting there. Not sure if he was injured or just lazy. Either way I got quite a few head shots of him. Then there was bees and butterflies on the orange milkweed plants. Most of the time I shot from the car, because the deer flies were swarming and biting. There was a few cranes walking along the road. Over all it was a good and profitable day. Here are a few of the photos taken today. Enjoy and God Bless.
